Cale Green Primary school send home a Tales Toolkit strip for the children to use with their home reading book. The children discussed the story with their family and then noted down the 4 story elements from the book on their strip. These came back to school for the child to share with their teacher.

A great way for schools to facilitate discussions around stories with families in a way that children love and are familiar with. If you do have a reading scheme that your setting uses then add charcters, settings, images from the books to stories that you create togetehr as a class and for children to independently access.
